Sustainable, Plantable Packaging Concept Wins Wordstar Award – Dunapack Packaging Highlights the Importance of Supporting Young Packaging Design Talent
At Dunapack Packaging Hungary, sustainable innovation and the development of young talent are key pillars of our long‑term strategy. We are proud to announce that our colleague, Luca Horváth, a graduating product and industrial design student from Óbuda University, has won two Silver Awards in the Sustainability and Health & Personal Care categories at the Worldstar Student Packaging Design Competition.
Luca’s award‑winning project presents a creative and eco‑friendly bath bomb packaging solution that can be planted after use, transforming into a small pot instead of becoming waste. The concept strongly supports circular design principles, reducing environmental impact by giving the packaging a second life. Through material experimentation, recyclable structure design, and a focus on consumer experience, Luca demonstrated how sustainability and functionality can be seamlessly combined in modern packaging concepts.
At Dunapack Packaging Hungary, we firmly believe that the future of our industry lies in the combination of decades of expertise and the fresh, innovative mindset of young professionals. Supporting emerging talent is essential for driving new ideas, fostering creativity, and shaping the next generation of sustainable packaging solutions. Luca’s work is an inspiring example of how young designers contribute to reducing ecological footprints while rethinking the role of packaging in everyday life.
Congratulations to Luca on this outstanding achievement!
We look forward to seeing how her passion for sustainability and innovative design will continue to shape the future of packaging.
